The Balanced Literacy Diet: A Powerful Professional Development Resource to Support Regular and Special Education Dr. Dale Willows and her team have created a free, comprehensive, multimedia, professional development website and a YouTube channel to support evidence-informed literacy education and special education. This session will provide an overview of The Balanced Literacy Diet framework and a demonstration of how to navigate the wealth of resources available. Overall, this session will provide classroom and special education teachers with a shared understanding of evidence-informed literacy education for students who find learning to read and write difficult. Presenter: Integra This workshop provides participants with an understanding of the nature of executive functioning (higher order thinking skills including organization and problem-solving) for youth with LDs and/or ADHD. Practical strategies to support the development of executive functioning skills and self-regulation in youth will be shared.
